Jarvis also noted a memo from the governor’s office naming Christy Smith as the inaugural director for the Office of Early Childhood. He said the OEC’s official start date is July 1 and that programs transferring to the OEC met with the transition team that day to discuss budgeting, contracts and operational planning so services continue without interruption.
Jarvis urged patience while the licensing team resolves remaining defects and said the cabinet will distribute guidance on training and outreach when the new timeline is finalized.
