Commission defers preliminary plat for proposed Joliet wastewater lift station lot to August

The Joliet Planning Commission on June 18 unanimously voted to defer P-6-26, a preliminary plat to resubdivide Lot 6 in the Sarver Commercial Property at the northeast corner of Black Road and Lois Place, to the August Planning Commission meeting.
City staff said the city is the applicant for the two-lot subdivision and that the purpose is to create a future lot for a Joliet wastewater lift station. Staff requested the deferral to provide additional time to assess whether the plat requires Planning Commission and City Council review under the Illinois Plat Act.
"We're requesting that this get deferred," the planner said. A motion to defer the item was moved and seconded and passed by roll call; Commissioners Leon, Martin, Radakovich, Turk, Eulitz, Hammock, and Chairman Cox voted Aye.
Staff will return the item to a future Planning Commission meeting after determining the appropriate review pathway under state law. No public testimony was recorded on this item during the hearing.
