Vendor pitches pharmacy, high-claim and spousal programs during public comment

At the start of the meeting, Gordon Gits used his three-minute public-comment slot to describe three programs his firms offer to reduce costs in self-funded plans. He said one program collects a list of brand-name drugs county employees use and works alongside the existing PBM to save money, and that participation would not add out-of-pocket expenses for individuals.
Gits also described a voluntary high-claiming program aimed at plan members with claims above roughly $150,000 per year, saying his company would analyze those cases and propose alternate voluntary programs "that are HIPAA compliant" to lower plan costs. He added a spousal program example in which, at open enrollment, a dependent spouse who has access to another employer's plan could move off the county plan and have out-of-pocket costs covered by the program.
Committee members thanked Gits and staff encouraged him to meet with identified county contacts for further follow-up; no procurement or RFP action was taken at the meeting based on the comment.
