Pittsfield Commission on Disabilities seeks updates on ADA signage, Wild Acres pathway maintenance

Brandon Gill, representing Community Development, told the Pittsfield Commission on Disabilities at its April 9 meeting that installation of handicap parking signs is expected to begin early this spring and that he will update the Commission when more information is available.
Commission members agreed to remind City staff to maintain and clear the Wild Acres pathway. The group also noted an upcoming City open house for the Safety Action Plan and shared the City web notice for the event.
Members discussed plans for an ADA celebration in July that will include a flag-raising and proclamation; the Commission may also recognize a local business for contributions to the disability community, with recognition criteria to be finalized at the May meeting. The Commission noted one membership vacancy and said it would contact people on its waiting list to fill the seat.
Brandon Gill additionally said he will seek departmental input related to new MOD guidance on grants and shovel-ready projects. No formal votes or budget allocations on signage or pathway maintenance were recorded at the meeting.
