Sedan council approves agenda, bills and routine maintenance purchases

The City of Sedan council approved routine business and several maintenance expenditures at its Nov. 4, 2025, meeting.
Mayor Bryan Blankinship called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Councilmember Adam Clark moved and Kathy Miller seconded approval of the agenda; subsequent motions approved the Oct. 21 minutes and payment of bills totaling $103,865.72. The motions were carried by the council.
Councilmember Angela Evans moved to purchase tires for the patrol vehicle from Main Street Auto for $1,196.52; Kathy Miller seconded and the motion carried. Staff member Caleb Ironsyde told the council the sewer line behind 212 W Main St required substantial repair work that has since been completed; the council approved ordering 8‑inch pipe to keep on hand, agreeing to a purchase for $3,524.08 after a motion by Angela Evans and second from Pam Koerner.
The council accepted the resignation of Nita Jones from the Guest Tax Board and appointed Dave Taylor to fill the vacancy. Adam Clark moved to accept the resignation and appoint Taylor; Angela Evans seconded and the motion carried.
Staff also reported operational items: Caleb Ironsyde said he had spoken with Dave Taylor about a shop sign and, following a motion by Pam Koerner and second by Adam Clark, the council authorized Taylor to order the sign as presented. Chief Kirk Richardson reported that Dustin Crum completed demolition of a Main Street residence damaged in the 2024 fire. City Clerk Lana Smith said she has been contacting asphalt companies to obtain quotes for roadway work.
The council conducted these items as part of routine business and did not record substantive debate on the measures. The next regular meeting will address any follow-up on procurement and roadway quotes.
