Bus driver praises Centerville-Abington staff, highlights safety and new facilities

Greg Chammas, a school bus driver, used the public-comment portion of the Centerville-Abington Community Schools board meeting to thank district staff for improved facilities, communication and day-to-day support for bus drivers.
"I just wanted to come tonight to just say to you on the board, thank you," Chammas said, adding that the new facility allows staff to work on vehicles in a safe manner and that office staff keep drivers updated about delays and student transfers. He said the district's staff "keep our vehicles safe" and that administrators regularly come to buses when students need attention.
Chammas noted operational benefits including restrooms and a place to wait during bad weather, and he emphasized a single practical request about fleet comfort: "Let me let me reiterate air conditioning." He also mentioned the district had received two new buses that morning.
Board members thanked Chammas for the remarks. Chair and other members acknowledged the positive feedback and the contribution of the district transportation staff; no board action was required in response to the comment.
Chammas identified himself for the record as a driver of bus No. 26 and as a driver for the district.
