Board approves interim 'zombie box' for Lake E1‑C aerator in split 3–2 vote

Shane Willis presented Premier Lakes’ one-time work order and a revised Bentley Electric proposal that would add about 125 feet of electrical wiring to relocate the aeration system farther from homes. Board members discussed budget implications and a proposal to postpone a full relocation until the FY2026 budget process.
On a motion by Bob Schultz, seconded by Robert Twombly, the board approved installing the zombie box at a cost of $3,098. The motion passed 3–2: Schultz, Twombly and Keith Merrill voted in favor; Terry Mountford and Kurt Blumenthal opposed. Staff noted the $10,755 relocation estimate can be revisited in the FY2026 budget discussions.
The board directed staff to include consideration of the full relocation cost in next year’s budget discussions and to proceed with the interim installation immediately.
