The Denmark Select Board on July 14 approved a one-day liquor license for the DAC Dam Jam event in August and completed several routine administrative tasks.
Chair moved to accept and approve the Dam Jam liquor-license application for the single-day event; a board member seconded the motion and the board voted in favor by voice vote. Staff noted the state has already approved the license. The chair and other members referred to the event as the annual weekend gathering where “they serve their little wine things and beer in the park.”
On governance items, the board elected Andy as chair earlier in the meeting and approved the June 30 minutes by voice vote. Chair reported the town’s Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant application was not funded; the board said they will try again in the future.
Chair said an incident report submitted by Eldridge was forwarded to the town’s technical reviewer, Rick, and to Poland Spring as required; the board will await Rick’s comments before deciding whether further action is needed and plans to carry the item to the July 28 agenda if necessary. The Clerk/Treasurer reported the town received FEMA grant funds last Friday (amount not specified), filed 2026 tax liens and completed June bank reconciliations and permitting reports to the state.
Board members also discussed a draft credit-card policy; the chair asked members to review the draft and agreed to place the policy on the July 28 agenda for possible approval. The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn was approved by voice vote.
