Three SAFER firefighters sworn in at Cambria CSD meeting

Kumbleitz was noted as a Central Coast native with ocean‑rescue and wildland experience; Birkenfeld comes from a background including Allan Hancock Fire Academy and seasonal firefighting; Wright returned to Cambria after reserve service elsewhere and training at Monterey Peninsula College.
After the board and chiefs presented badges, the three were administered the oath of office required for public safety personnel in California under Government Code §3102. Board members and Sheriff/CHP representatives congratulated the new firefighters and praised their decision to join local public service.
What’s next: the new hires will begin assigned duties with the Cambria Fire Department as staffing and schedules allow; the board and community thanked their families and welcomed the firefighters to service.
