Soldier Township board forms committee to review employee pay grade scale after three executive sessions

The board recessed and returned at 12:30 p.m. with no action taken. Glasgow moved a second recess naming Attorney Luckman and Fire Chief Chad Lady as participants; Gerhardt seconded, and the board recessed and returned at 12:47 p.m., again taking no action. Glasgow moved a third recess naming the Attorney and Administrator Audree Guzman; Mike Mathes seconded, and the board resumed at 1:03 p.m. with no action taken.
After the executive sessions, the board discussed the township's current employee pay grade scale. The board agreed that a review committee would be formed, composed of Administrator Audree Guzman, Fire Chief Chad Lady, Board Member Jerry Glasgow and any additional fire department staff deemed necessary. The board stated any pay increases resulting from that committee's recommendations would be retroactive to Dec. 31. No public comments were taken following the executive sessions.
The meeting concluded when Jerry Glasgow moved to adjourn; Trustee Chad Gerhardt seconded and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 1:11 p.m. The minutes list the meeting date as Feb. 18, 2025 at the top but also state the meeting was "called to order ... on February 11, at 12:15 p.m." The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 11, 2025, at 12:15 p.m.
