The Board of Education of U.S.D. 438 held three executive sessions during its Oct. 14 meeting to discuss nonelected personnel matters. Each motion to move to executive session was made by board member Nicole Curtis and seconded by Jerry DeWeese; the minutes record return-to-open times of 8:49 p.m., 9:05 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. The minutes state that the superintendent, Becca Flowers, was invited to attend and that the closed sessions were required to protect the privacy interests of identifiable individuals.
After the closed-session discussions, the board voted to offer a contract to Bryant Tatro as a bus driver for the 2024'25 school year. The motion to offer the contract was made by Jerry DeWeese and seconded by Nicole Curtis; the minutes show the motion carried. The minutes do not disclose details of the personnel discussions because the executive sessions were held for privacy reasons.
Nicole Curtis later moved and Jerry DeWeese seconded the motion to adjourn; the meeting adjourned at 9:13 p.m., according to the minutes.
