Woolwich authorizes engineering for Garwin Road improvements; committee clarifies survey scope and funding

The Woolwich Township Committee adopted Resolution R-2024-272 authorizing Remington and Vernick to provide engineering design, public bidding and construction management for FY2024 NJDOT Municipal Aid — Garwin Road Roadway Improvements (Phase I).
Committeeman Frederick asked for clarification on the survey’s scope, specifically its start and end points, and how the engineering costs would be funded. Township Engineer Samantha Boonstra said a portion of the current grant can be applied toward surveying the entire length of Garwin Road and that the Township would initially cover the remaining balance with the expectation of recouping those costs through future grant funding.
Frederick requested adding another whereas clause to the resolution stating the northern point of Garwin Road as the project’s starting point. The motion to adopt the resolution passed on a 4-0 roll call as recorded in the minutes.
