The Solomon City Council held several formal votes during its Nov. 3 meeting.
Agenda and consent: the council approved the meeting agenda at the outset (motion by Jennifer Cross, seconded by Kelley VanDeCreek) and later approved the consent agenda, which included Oct. 6 minutes, the October check register and payroll summary, September fund reports, and a CMB license for Bush's Market (motion by Jennifer Cross, seconded by Shawn Kirby).
Contract payment: the council approved payment of an $86,140 invoice from CES (motion by Kelley VanDeCreek, seconded by Jennifer Cross).
Grant acceptance and purchases: the council accepted a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Dickinson County for the fire department and approved using the full grant to buy self-contained breathing apparatus bottles ($2,925) and fire hoses ($1,925) (motion by Shawn Kirby, seconded by Jennifer Cross).
Adjournment: the council adjourned at 7:14 PM after a motion by Jennifer Cross, seconded by Shawn Kirby.
