Solomon community garden adds plots, engages students and donates produce to food pantry

City crews added one in-ground plot and four above-ground plots this season. High school students participated in garden work and received service hours for their efforts. Riordan said garden volunteers donated some produce to the local food pantry and that the garden board is considering more plots, a donation sign and a coded lock for the shed next year.
The council heard the report as part of regular presentations; no formal council action was required.
