The Logan View Public Schools Board of Education on Aug. 27 approved two transfers from the general fund — $76,853.03 to the activity fund and $425,000 to the depreciation fund — and voted to develop a bond resolution to be considered at the board’s Sept. 8 regular meeting, with an amendment adding a gymnasium/multi‑purpose space to the proposal.
Board President Chad Rebbe called the special meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Logan View Jr./Sr. High School library. The consent agenda, which included minutes from the Aug. 11 regular meeting and an Aug. 24 work session, claims and accounts, and financial reports, was approved unanimously on a motion by Kris Kremke and second by Houston Moseman.
The board then approved a $76,853.03 transfer from the general fund to the activity fund (moved by Brandon Wobken; seconded by Nathan Schole) and a $425,000 transfer from the general fund to the depreciation fund intended for transportation, building repairs, curriculum purchases and devices (moved by Carrie Beacom; seconded by Kris Kremke). Both transfers passed 9–0.
On a separate motion, the board authorized staff to develop a bond resolution for consideration at the Sept. 8 meeting. During debate the board amended the motion to specify that the bond resolution include a gymnasium/multi‑purpose space based on concept drawing CE 294‑003‑22. The amendment and the amended motion each passed 8–1, with board member Scott Wulf the sole nay vote.
Board members discussed budget implications tied to outstanding debt, noting the operating budget for the bond fund will increase for 2025–26 because the Series 2011B bond for the elementary building is due in December. The board also reviewed valuation data and discussed a secure‑entrance project. The board set the next regular meeting for Sept. 8 at 8:00 p.m.
The motions and votes taken at the special meeting were procedural approvals to develop a bond resolution and to move specified amounts between funds; no final bond issuance or final project authorization occurred at this meeting. The bond resolution and any associated project details will return for formal consideration at the Sept. 8 regular meeting.
