USD 297 board approves new hires and accepts three resignations
Summary

Superintendent Penka presented five recommended hires and the board approved them at the Nov. 14 meeting. The hires and start dates recorded in the minutes are: Kim McGinnis, Transportation Director (start 11/18/2024); Tania Quintero, District Clerk (start 12/02/2024); Marlin Queen, Director of Maintenance (start 11/18/2024); Geronima Rocha‑Zapada, Grade School maintenance (start 11/18/2024); and Reighna Priest, Yearbook (start 11/18/2024). The motion to approve the hires was made by Chris Hingst, seconded by Danielle McAtee, and carried.
Superintendent Penka also reported three resignations: Maria Duarte‑Torres (paraprofessional for high school and elementary), Trista Lauer (Yearbook instructor), and Amy Morrow (junior high assistant volleyball coach). J.W. Milliken moved to accept the resignations; the motion was seconded by Bruce Swihart and carried.
The minutes do not include individual roll‑call vote tallies for the personnel actions.
