Spring Hill council awards Legacy Lake dam contract, approves property purchase and several funding agreements

During routine formal action the council approved multiple items related to public works and intergovernmental projects at its Feb. 26 meeting.
The council accepted the bid from Griggs Construction for Legacy Lake Dam Improvements in the total amount of $96,018 and authorized the Mayor and staff to execute the construction agreement; the motion carried unanimously (mover: Mike Grant; second: James Savage).
Council authorized the Mayor to enter into a real estate contract to purchase property at 100 S. Main Street for $97,000 to construct a parking lot adjacent to the Public Works facility; that motion carried unanimously.
The council also approved a funding agreement with Johnson County for the Stormwater Management Asset Inspection Program and authorized staff to submit an application to the Kansas Department of Transportation under the Transportation Alternatives (TA) Program seeking funding for the South Street sidewalk project. Both motions passed unanimously.
All items were approved as recorded in the minutes; staff will proceed with contract execution, property closing steps and grant application submittals as appropriate.
