Spring Hill council confirms board appointments; Cemetery Board slate passes after Council President recusal and one no vote

For the Cemetery Board, Mayor Young presented a slate that included Polly Mahoney, John Nevius and Keith Stiles for three-year terms and Ashley Thron to finish an unexpired term. Council President Phillip Thron recused himself and muted his sound for the Cemetery Board vote; the nominations were accepted 2-1-0. Councilman Ivan Delgado said, "I voted no since I do not know the individuals, so I didn't feel comfortable voting." Thron later unmuted and returned to the meeting record.
Mayor Young also nominated Sydney Unruh for a three-year term on the Parks Advisory Board; that nomination was accepted 3-1 with Delgado opposed. The council nominated Rodolfo Arevalo and Rachel Jones to three-year terms on the Planning Commission and Travis Nace to an unexpired term; the Planning Commission slate was accepted 4-0-0.
No public testimony opposing the appointees was recorded in the meeting minutes. The appointments became effective upon council action at the Feb. 26 meeting.
