Spring Hill Cemetery Board approves minutes and treasurer’s report, unveils brochure and welcomes new member

Vice President Susan Crawford called the Spring Hill Cemetery Board to order at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Civic Center in Spring Hill.
The board approved the minutes of the February meeting after Christine Hecke read them aloud. John Nevius moved to accept the minutes as read and Polly Mahoney seconded; the motion passed, 6–0. Joy Rose presented the treasurer’s report; Christine Hecke moved to accept the report, Polly Mahoney seconded, and the board approved it, 6–0.
In Old Business, board member Polly Mahoney presented the finished cemetery brochure that the board will use for public outreach and visitor information. The board also noted upcoming grounds work: edging dirt work is scheduled to begin in the spring, and Larry Sumner is soliciting bids for tree trimming after trees were marked for work.
Under New Business the board announced that Ashley Thron has joined as a new board member. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn by Joy Rose, seconded by John Nevius; the session ended at 7:27 p.m.
Next steps recorded in the meeting: staff or designated contractors will proceed with edging work in spring and the board will review tree-trimming bids when received. No contract awards or additional formal votes were recorded at this meeting beyond the approvals of the minutes and the treasurer’s report.
