Stanton County USD 452 board ratifies negotiated agreement, trims calendar and raises employee breakfast price

The voice vote on the motions was 4-0.
Administration representative Trenton Horn told the board the negotiated agreement changes the base salary to $44,500, implements an eight‑hour period schedule for the junior/senior high, and removes two in‑service days from the calendar so that teachers will work a 177‑day contract. Bret Kendrick moved to ratify the agreement; Val Zumudio seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
The board also approved a targeted change to the 2024–25 school calendar, removing the teacher in‑service day planned for Nov. 25, 2024, and the teacher workday on Nov. 26, 2024. Vice President Bobbie Ehrlich made the motion to adopt the calendar update; Bret Kendrick seconded and the motion passed 4-0.
On nutrition program administration, Horn said he spoke with a state contact and that federal reimbursement rules require the district employee breakfast price to be set at $3.05. Vice President Ehrlich moved to update the District Employee Breakfast price to $3.05; Val Zumudio seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
The board briefly went into a two‑minute executive session starting at 12:26 p.m. to review personnel matters, including resignations and hiring recommendations, with Mr. Horn joining the session; open session resumed at 12:28 p.m. Following the executive session, the board approved the resignation of Melissa Bolivar from her role as SCHS ESL paraprofessional. Bobbie Ehrlich moved to approve the resignation; Bret Kendrick seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
The meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m. and adjourned at 12:29 p.m. by unanimous vote. No public comments were recorded during the meeting.
