Board approves FFA national trip, grants wrestling club gym access and renews short-term CDs

Kaidon Kendrick presented the FFA itinerary and the board approved the chapter’s request to attend the FFA National Convention; the board noted a shared lodging arrangement and that the Cimarron FFA sponsor will serve as the male sponsor while students share housing. The board also agreed to a request from Kids Club Wrestling leaders (Josh Allen, KC Higley, Beau Hines and Jan Burger) to use the school’s wrestling room for practices; the group will enter through the main doors and use restroom facilities only. Chantry Scott moved to permit the group’s use; Bobbie Ehrlich seconded and the motion carried.
Administratively, the board agreed to increase the high school activity credit card limit to $3,000 to accommodate frequent activity purchases, and authorized renewing five CDs at Johnson State Bank and three at Dream First for three months while the board considers longer-term options. These items were approved by unanimous votes as recorded in the minutes.
The minutes indicate the board discussed accessibility and security for outside groups using facilities and emphasized that the Kids Club Wrestling is not associated with the Stanton County Recreation club.
