Board approves multiple hires, accepts two resignations and other personnel actions

After separate approval of the superintendent’s contract, the board approved contracts for Elizabeth Kester (SCES after-school teacher), Alejandra/Alajandra Bailey (SCES paraprofessional), Isabella/Isabelle Muro (after-school assistant) and Katherine Morrison (substitute teacher). Chantry Scott moved to approve the presented contracts as listed; Paige German seconded; the motion carried 6-0. The minutes show some variation in spelling for names listed on the agenda and in the hires list; the board’s final approvals were recorded under the names appearing in the hires section.
The board also accepted the resignations of Zayeli Monson (SCES paraprofessional) and Lilia Tarin (SCES after-school teacher) on a 6-0 vote. Earlier in the meeting, the board approved an out-of-district attendance request for Reina Ochoa, also by a unanimous vote.
Board members concluded the meeting by taking a group photograph, offering thanks to teachers and students, and adjourning at 8:13 p.m.
