The Stanton County Unified School District No. 452 Board of Education voted 6-0 on Jan. 15 to extend Superintendent Trenton Horn’s contract for two years.
Bret Kendrick made the motion to approve Horn’s contract extension, and Rhett Seyb seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Board members paused earlier when an omnibus motion to approve all contracts was retracted so the superintendent’s contract could be approved separately.
The board discussed contract language during a series of executive sessions on personnel and negotiations; Superintendent Horn joined portions of those closed sessions for the stated purpose of discussing personnel items and negotiated agreement language. No changes to the superintendent’s public duties or compensation were recorded in the meeting minutes beyond the two-year extension being approved.
The board returned to open session and completed several additional personnel actions, then adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
