Planning staff told the commission that a publication deadline was missed and the second reading of the city’s zoning ordinance has been postponed to early August; staff said they have worked with grant partners so the delay will not jeopardize funding.
Terry, a long-serving planning staff member who spoke at multiple points during the meeting, closed the evening by announcing his retirement effective July 29 and noted the planner position has already been posted. Staff also said it would follow up on an outstanding OmniFiber utility‑cabinet matter and other open items at the next meeting.
Commissioners thanked Terry for his years of service. Staff said they will return updates and next steps to the commission at upcoming meetings.
