Principals report interim testing and MTSS progress to Stanton County USD 452 board

At the Dec. 11 meeting of the Stanton County USD #452 Board of Education, Elementary Principal Andrea Jones and Jr./Sr. High Principal Leah Crane presented instructional and assessment updates.
Andrea Jones explained interim testing documents posted to a shared Google Drive and showed example results from grades 3-6. She described changes between the previous testing questions and the newer items and how the results display student performance across tested skills.
Leah Crane outlined the districtmulti-tiered system of supports (MTSS) and the role of IXL in math instruction. Crane said the state pays for the Math IXL subscription and that, after two years of instruction, the district is moving closer to the mastery targets the staff are aiming for. Superintendent Trenton Horn added context about virtual-school assessment and noted HPEC (High Plains Education Cooperative) is discussing assessment comparability between virtual and in-person schools.
