At the July 14 meeting Commissioner Swagger Wilson opened a public hearing on ordinance bill 5-26, an amendment to chapter 20 of the municipal code that would define "smoke shops," permit them as a conditional use in the C-2 zoning district and establish use-specific regulations. He noted the planning board reviewed the ordinance on April 21 and June 16 and recommended adoption.
The chair opened the public hearing and asked for comments; no members of the public spoke and the hearing was closed without testimony.
What this means: The ordinance remains before the commission for further consideration; the planning board has recommended adoption, and the commission will proceed through its normal public hearing and adoption steps as scheduled in future meetings.
