The Village of Fishkill Planning Board on July 16 approved a sign permit for Calandria Pizza King at 17 Merritt Boulevard in Ransley Square. The board moved and carried a motion to accept the applicant's submission, and the chair welcomed the new business to the village.
Joe Biker, who identified himself as a representative of Timely Signs speaking for Calandria Pizzeria, told the board the proposal replaces existing signs and reuses the same lighting fixtures and an arced design element from the prior tenant’s signage. "I'm with Timely Signs. I'm representing Calandria Pizzeria," Biker said when presenting the application and images of the proposed sign.
The chair read a building inspector’s memo from Joel Futures stating the review found the proposed signage meets the Village sign-code guidelines and is appropriate for the location. Board members had no objections during the review and spoke in favor of approval.
A board member moved to accept the sign permit as submitted; the motion was seconded and the chair declared the motion carried following a voice vote. The transcript does not record individual vote tallies or the seconding speaker by name. The applicant thanked the board and the meeting proceeded to the next agenda item.
The board’s approval covers the replacement signage, a tenant panel on the monument sign, and window graphics described in the application. Any building or electrical permits required to install the sign will be handled through the village’s normal permitting process.
