Wakefield Public Schools board recognizes state track competitors, highlights record performance

Board members noted Cael Johnson won the 300-meter hurdles in a Class C state and meet-record time of 37.93 seconds; Johnson also placed fifth in the 110 hurdles (14.95 seconds) and third in the 400-meter dash. The boys 1,600-meter relay placed sixth with a time of 3:25.99 (team: Colt Johnson, Cael Johnson, Mason Lamprecht and Jacob Borg). Other athletes mentioned included Rylee Reaves (first time competing in shot put as a sophomore), Colt Johnson (triple jump, finished ninth), Mason Lamprecht (long jump and 200 meters) and Benny Palma (3,200 meters). The board offered recognition and congratulations to the student-athletes.
