The Cozad Community Schools Board approved mid‑term graduation requests Nov. 17 for a group of students who will graduate mid‑year provided they complete required coursework.
The motion was made by Joel Carlson and seconded by Stacey Mundell and passed unanimously. The students listed in the minutes were Josef Flores, Jessica Guthard, Destiny McFall, Garek Gruber, Swaisen Mroczek, Brecken Twyford and Abigail Kendrick‑Twine.
Mr. Fisher had previously introduced the candidates and gave them an opportunity to share their plans after high school during the meeting’s Haymaker highlight segment. The board’s approval is contingent on each student passing the classes necessary to meet graduation requirements.
The district will verify course completion before formally conferring diplomas for the mid‑term graduates.
