Resident urges council to prioritize Jefferson Park pool repairs after repeated delays

At the council’s public-comment period, resident and Jefferson Park board member Georgia Bayonne urged the council to make the long-delayed Jefferson Park Pool project a priority, saying promised construction and improvements have been repeatedly postponed and that local swim teams and families have lost program time.

"Bringing more aquatic options to Jefferson County has been a passion of mine, and it's also incredibly needed," Bayonne said. She described prior communications with town officials and fundraising by the swim team that went unused when construction was delayed. "Had we known we would have delayed this again, the kids could have had a season of summer swim," she said, asking the council to keep the project on the short list of priorities even if no immediate action was required from the council that night.

The mayor acknowledged the comment and recorded it for the public record; Bayonne said she understood there was no actionable item in that moment but wanted the council to know that families were watching the project and that expectations had not been met.
