The council discussed the transition plan and paperwork procedures before the vote. “I would move to appoint assistant city manager, Alyssa Meeks, to be the interim city manager to take effect on 06/14/2025,” a council member said during the motion.
Mayor Jeff Holmes and other council members framed the appointment as a short-term operational step while the city’s formal recruitment proceeds. Staff said the recruiter will present an initial slate of candidates late in June and the personnel committee will narrow applicants for council consideration. The motion carried by voice vote and was recorded in the minutes as approved.
