At the Feb. 12 meeting, Morgan Smith presented the task force’s MIP/DUI report showing four DUI arrests in Anaconda-Deer Lodge County since the previous task force meeting; the minutes state that all four suspects refused breath testing.
Trooper George Nassour reported that Montana Highway Patrol issued three DUIs during the same period. Lauren Bolten told members she is preparing a graph of 2025 MIP/DUI data organized by date to help identify when citations are occurring and to make year-to-year comparisons.
Members voted to accept the report. George Nassour moved to accept; Keith Lopez seconded. The motion passed.
The minutes record counts and an effort to improve data presentation but do not include individual case details or a breakdown by age, location or time of day. Task force members discussed using the date-organized graph in future meetings to analyze trends.
