Cairo Town Board approves monthly reports, bill payments and local-law amendment

The Cairo Town Board approved several routine but consequential items during its May 5 meeting.
The board accepted the Supervisor’s monthly financial report for April 2025 by unanimous recorded vote (Supervisor Watts; Council Members Bogins, Cords and Murphy voting aye; Council Member Flaherty absent). (Resolution No. 2025-107)
The board authorized payment of Abstract #304 (V5 #00185-00285) totaling $355,296.35. The motion recorded fund breakdowns as follows: General Fund $191,537.50; Hydrant $8,500.00; Highway Fund $62,270.49; Street Lighting $5,991.85; Polly’s Rock $44,832.58; Sewer Fund $30,135.83; Trust & Agency $2,002.54; Water Fund $10,025.56. The motion was offered by Supervisor Watts and seconded by Council Member Bogins and carried on the record. (Resolution No. 2025-108)
The board approved an amendment to Local Law #1 of 1990 to formalize lot line adjustment procedures for small subdivisions, a measure previously approved in 2019 but not filed with the Secretary of State. (Resolution No. 2025-109)
The board accepted a Sewer Use Billing from the Sewer Administrator dated May 1, 2025, in the amount of $28,132.23. (Resolution No. 2025-110)
All motions were carried with the same recorded ayes and one absent member. The meeting adjourned at 7:39 p.m.
