SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP — The Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors approved several road- maintenance actions at its Jan. 20 meeting, including purchasing a commercial mower and authorizing work tied to a County resurfacing project.
Vice Chair Brandon Geyen moved to buy a Schulte XH1500 (series 5) mower from Trueman Welters for $47,825.44; Supervisor Andy Christensen seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Board members said the purchase was presented as a replacement-capital item to support township maintenance operations.
Maintenance staff recommended soliciting contractor bids for the Baker Avenue road rebuild now so the board would have contractor quotes before the end of February. The board approved posting the request for bids and will select a contractor once bids are returned.
The board also approved coordinating with Wright County’s planned resurfacing of County Road 39 and authorized up to $16,000 to add concrete or paved aprons where township gravel roads meet the county roadway. Supervisor Christensen moved to approve the apron funding, Geyen seconded, and the motion carried 3-0.
The actions were recorded as motions with roll-call-style outcomes (three yes votes from the attending supervisors; two supervisors were absent). The board did not identify specific funding reassignments in the meeting minutes; township staff will report contractor bids and any budget adjustments when available.
Next steps: staff will solicit and return Baker Avenue bids to the board for contractor selection and will coordinate apron work with Wright County’s County Road 39 schedule.
