Board members revisited an earlier discussion about labeling trees for the arboretum. One member reported researching tags and said some vendor tags run about $22 each while higher-durability laser-printed tags from specialty suppliers run closer to $40. Members discussed whether to include QR codes linking to a database and noted that maintaining such a database would require staff or community volunteers.
Members also discussed the Summit Avenue planting area in front of City Hall, noting that the new sign frame should be installed before planting so new plantings are not damaged during sign work. The board emphasized selecting low‑maintenance, drought‑ and heat‑tolerant native species to reduce ongoing city maintenance needs.
