Silver Creek Township adds new clerk and updates bank signatories, authorizes credit card

Chair Helman opened the June 2 Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors meeting and introduced Sara Nelson as the township’s new clerk/treasurer.
The board voted on administrative changes to give Nelson access to township finances. On a motion by Supervisor Christensen, seconded by Chair Helman, the board approved adding Sara Nelson to the township’s CorTrust Bank account, removing former clerk Johann Massman from the account, and issuing a township credit card to Nelson with a $6,000 limit; the minutes record the action as carried with the notation "Carried 2-0 -1 (Supervisor Nelson)." The board also approved sending Nelson to clerk training at a cost of $60.
The clerk-treasurer written report, presented by Johann Massman, included follow-up administrative items: Helman said she will update the driveway ordinance form to include an escrow fee, and Johann will share passwords with the incoming clerk. The board moved, and carried, to publicly list the two supervisor seats that will be up for reelection.
The board authorized the clerk to sign a contract with ABDO for up to $5,000 to correct payroll errors; that motion appears separately on the minutes and was recorded as carried (notation: "Carried 3-1").
The board directed Supervisor Christensen to invite a bank consultant to present services at the next meeting to support a banking review. The board adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
