At a special meeting on April 20, 2026, the Anchorage City Council unanimously adopted the 2026 Tax Rate Ordinance, setting the city's property tax rate for tax year 2025'2026 at $0.318 per $100 of assessed value. The ordinance includes a 5% discount for taxpayers who pay on or before May 31, 2026.
Council member Patrick McMahon moved to approve the ordinance after conducting its second reading; Council member Karin Tyrer seconded the motion. The council voted unanimously, with all five members present voting yes. Earlier in the brief meeting, McMahon also moved to approve the April 13, 2026 regular meeting minutes; Council member Bill Wetherton seconded that motion and it passed unanimously.
Mayor Neil Ramsey called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.; the record lists Diane Cook, Matt Delehanty, Patrick McMahon, Karin Tyrer and Bill Wetherton as present and Hunter Wilson as absent. The minutes record that City Administrative Officer Renee9 Major attended and also signed the minutes as City Clerk.
The meeting ended after a motion to adjourn by Council member Matt Delehanty, seconded by Council member Diane Cook. The motion to adjourn passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 6:03 p.m.
