Anchorage council approves change orders to road paving contract

At its June 8 meeting the Anchorage City Council approved three change order bid proposals to its existing paving contract with MAC Construction & Excavating, Inc. The changes will mill and pave Parkway Road to improve drainage, restore (clean, fill cracks, and coat) Pine Way, Hickory Road and Redwood Way, and repave the Evergreen Road railroad crossing and apron to create a smooth transition to the recently repaved area near the track.
Council member Hunter Wilson moved to approve all three change orders and Patrick McMahon seconded; the motion passed unanimously. No amendments or recorded dissent were made during the discussion.
The approved change orders authorize the contract work described and allow staff to proceed with the specified milling, paving and repair tasks under the existing contract with MAC Construction & Excavating.
