Anchorage schools superintendent outlines "top ten" first-100-day highlights, will compile placement test results for city

Anchorage Independent School Superintendent Sarla Six presented the district’s top ten celebrations from the first 100 days of the 2025–26 school year and answered council members’ questions about current high school placement test scores. She said she will compile the test results and deliver that report to the City of Anchorage.

In a brief presentation to the Anchorage City Council on Feb. 9, Superintendent Sarla Six highlighted accomplishments across the district and noted recent student outcomes that prompted follow-up analysis. “I will compile the placement test results and report them to the City of Anchorage,” Six said, according to the meeting minutes.

The presentation was delivered during the council’s regular meeting, which Mayor Neil Ramsey called to order at 6:00 p.m. Council discussion of the topic was limited to follow-up questions; there is no record in the minutes of a request for further hearings or formal action tied to the test results.

The minutes also list two guests, Sara Tyler and Sharla Six, and separately identify the superintendent in the presentation as Sarla Six. The transcript contains inconsistent spellings for the surname Six (see audit), which the minutes do not resolve. The superintendent’s commitment to compile and submit placement-test data is recorded as the primary outcome of the presentation.
