The Ballard County Board of Education on Aug. 19 approved its consent agenda, which included the treasurer’s report, minutes, bills, expulsions to date, superintendent expenses, personnel actions and a request from the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office for overtime.
Personnel actions approved under the consent agenda include new hires and transfers: Andrew Margherio (BMHS biology teacher); Kelley Scott (BCMS attendance secretary); Scott Matlock (BMHS boys baseball head coach); Andrea Ray (ASK/Stop N Go); Ryan Collins and Angelique Moreno (BCMS/BMHS custodians); transfers of Teresa Schnuck (BMHS attendance secretary), Carol Smith (KG instructional assistant), Halee Spears (BCMS 21st Century coordinator) and Madison Ellington (BCES SPED teacher); and Diana Butler as nurse’s assistant. The minutes say certified substitutes listed (for example, Alan Boykin and Wendy Burnley) are pending completion of required paperwork.
Superintendent Casey Allen provided non-action updates including a data security update per 702 KAR 1:170, a construction update, Bomber Bash participation numbers, enrollment figures and student and staff achievements. The board set its next regular meeting for Sept. 16, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. and then unanimously voted to adjourn.
