- Approved minutes of the March 2 regular session and the February 2026 Treasurer’s Report (motion by Mcdonald, seconded by Kuester; motion carried, five ayes). February expenditures were reported as $385,898 and revenues as $337,597.
- Approved permission for Crystal Luke Davis to use a parking spot on G Avenue for mobile food-truck vending on specified dates in April–August 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (motion carried, five ayes).
- Took action on the First Reading of Ordinance 590 and adopted an amendment adding the City Clerk, Public Works Director, Police Chief and EMS Director as three-year appointed positions with an annual performance review by the mayor (amendment moved by Smith, seconded by McDonald; motion carried, five ayes). The ordinance remains at first reading.
- Adopted Resolution 2026-13 authorizing the mayor to sign a five-year agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation (moved by Lamp, seconded by Kuester; motion carried, five ayes).
- Approved mayoral appointments of Wes Beenken, David Stefl and Sarah Nolder to the Community Center Board for terms ending Dec. 31, 2029 (motion carried, five ayes). Council confirmed up to two board members may live outside city limits.
- Entered closed session at 7:04 p.m. under Iowa Code Chapter 21.5(j) to discuss potential real estate purchase; closed the session at 7:26 p.m. and returned to open session with no action taken.
- Introduced a first draft of Ordinance 591 (Chapter 51, Junk and Junk Vehicles) for future discussion and scheduling; no action taken at this meeting.
The council adjourned at 7:35 p.m. A special meeting is scheduled for March 30, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.; the next regular meeting is April 6, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
