The Ely City Council handled several routine and consent items April 10, approving liquor licensing, a survey contract, proclamations and a retroactive comment letter.
The council, acting as the Liquor Licensing Board, approved a Class II liquor license for Tajinder Singh d.b.a. The Village Liquor Mart at 501 Nevada Northern Railway. The council accepted a single RFP from Rosevear Surveying & Consulting to perform the Georgetown Ranch survey and voted to table an interlocal shared-building-services agreement pending county approval.
Councilors also retroactively approved sending a letter supporting two Minor New Source Review permit applications submitted by Deseret Generation & Transmission Co-operative to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Mayor Robertson said the letter was sent before the meeting due to a deadline. The council adopted proclamations declaring April 13–19, 2025, National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and April 25, 2025, as Arbor Day in Ely.
