Ely council approves manufactured-housing inspections contract, NDEP grant letter, and selects Sanbell for Campton Street

On March 27 the Ely City Council approved multiple administrative and engineering actions related to local infrastructure.
The council unanimously approved an interlocal contract with the Nevada Manufactured Housing Division allowing the City Building Officialto perform manufactured-home inspections on the States behalf from April 1, 2025 through April 1, 2027. City Building Official Don Hendrickson said the permit fee for a manufactured-home inspection is approximately $300 and that the contract enables the City to process state inspections locally.
Council also approved submitting a Letter of Intent to the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection for a Capital Improvements Grant of $197,010 for the Morley Avenue water and sewer upgrades project (PWP-WP-2025-206). City Clerk Jennifer Lee and City Treasurer Janette Trask said the Citys 15% match of $29,552 will come from the Utility Fund. Councilwoman Samantha Elliott moved to approve the letter of intent and Councilwoman Melody Van Camp seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Separately, the council selected Summit Engineering Corporation dba Sanbell Nevada to provide engineering design, construction oversight and final inspection for the Campton Street Improvement Project (NDOT Project No. TAP-0033-(342)) based on final technical scoring; the record notes that project management/construction-phase services were not included in the current contract.
All three items passed by unanimous council vote at the March 27 meeting. The council did not set additional reporting deadlines for the NDEP application in the meeting record.
