Bellemeade approves treasurer's report; Louisville Water billing error corrected and road treatment planned

At its Oct. 13 meeting, the Bellemeade City Commission unanimously approved the treasurer's report after City Treasurer Geri Huff said recurring expenses were as expected and staff reviewed several invoices.

The commission recorded two motions and unanimous votes: Commissioner Burt Deutsch moved to approve the Sept. 8 minutes (seconded by Commissioner Halle Brumleve) and Mayor James Martin moved to approve the Treasurer's Report (seconded by Commissioner Cindy Oppel); both motions passed without dissent.

Treasurer Geri Huff told the commission Louisville Water had erroneously charged an irrigation unit to Bellemeade's account; the utility has corrected the invoice and documented the resolution. The commission also discussed an invoice from a traffic engineer tied to routine expenses.

For road repairs, Commissioner Burt Deutsch said there were no new public-lands items this month, while Commissioner Sandy Walker reported that Beargrass Group plans to treat road damage during multiple days in October and highlighted deterioration in places on Woodcleft. Commissioners discussed the difficulty of finding contractors for small asphalt repairs and considered a review of a heavy-truck ordinance and possible speed bumps on Holliswood to limit future pavement damage.

Mayor Martin said he will contact HOA presidents in Lyndon Lakes and Holly Springs to seek assistance offsetting Leaf Spring-related expenses. The commission adjourned at 7:50 p.m.; next meetings are a Nov. 3 working session (Zoom) and a Nov. 10 regular meeting at Shelby House Condominiums.
