The Bellemeade Commission approved its treasurer's year-end report July 14, was told City Clerk Trish Scott will step down, and on second reading approved an ordinance to change the commission's regular meeting location to 8605 Shelbyville Road.
City Treasurer Geri Huff presented the Treasurer's Report, saying the city met its budget for the fiscal year and ended with a slight surplus. Huff noted increased attorney costs related to the Leaf Spring project and that the city received $97 cash back from a PNC credit card. Mayor James Martin moved to approve the Treasurer's Report; Commissioner Burt Deutsch seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Martin said Clerk Trish Scott notified him she intends to step down. Commissioners discussed the possibility of combining the Clerk and Treasurer roles; Commissioner Deutsch said he was not concerned about combining positions and the mayor said he will discuss the matter with commissioners who were not present before any personnel changes are finalized. Treasurer Geri Huff has expressed interest in assuming clerk duties as Scott steps down.
On second reading, Mayor Martin presented an ordinance to change the commission's meeting location to 8605 Shelbyville Road (Shelby House Condominiums). The commission approved the ordinance unanimously.
