Bellemeade commission approves minutes, accepts treasurer's report; hears meeting-location change on first reading

The Bellemeade City Commission unanimously approved the May 12, 2025 minutes and accepted the treasurer's report at its June 9 meeting.

Commissioner Burt Deutsch moved to approve the May 12 minutes as corrected; Commissioner Halle Brumleve seconded and the motion carried unanimously. City Treasurer Geri Huff presented the treasurer's report, reported that insurance premium taxes are continuing to come in, said she renewed a PNC certificate of deposit for four months at 4 percent, and noted the city's investment account is up roughly $10,000; she said she will meet with auditors Goforth & Heron on June 13 to discuss the audit. Commissioner Cindy Oppel moved to accept the treasurer's report; Commissioner Burt Deutsch seconded and that motion also passed unanimously.

Mayor James Martin presented an ordinance amendment for first reading to change the commission meeting location to 8605 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY, starting Sept. 8, 2025; the ordinance was presented but not adopted at the June 9 meeting. The commission also scheduled a working meeting via Zoom on Monday, July 7, at 7 p.m. and set the next regular commission meeting for Monday, July 14, at 7 p.m. at the Steel Technologies Building, 700 N Hurstbourne Parkway.

Commissioner Halle Brumleve announced a Community Yard Sale for Aug. 16 and asked for volunteers to assist with 'No Parking' signs; she proposed a 'Meet the Commissioners' event before the September meeting. There were no public comments during the meeting.

Mayor Martin adjourned the meeting at 7:33 p.m.
