- Public hearing set: Amended FY2026 budget hearing set for Aug. 5, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
- Resolution 202026‑10 (set public hearing to close out LID 54): Approved; public hearing scheduled for Aug. 5, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
- Water department building remodel: Awarded to Headwaters Construction, low bid $1,674,156; council approved the award and staff indicated a budget adjustment will be required to fund the difference from other water projects.
- Traffic-signal upgrade (SE corner of Porter Park): Awarded to Arco Electric, low bid $216,500; council approved the contract award.
- Ordinance 13‑53 (restrict fireworks sale dates to align with state statute): Approved; staff said the change aligns the city code with Idaho statute and that the current burn ban will also affect ignition for fireworks this year.
- Rezones and plats (Ordinances 13‑52, 13‑48, 13‑49): Council considered and recorded motions to proceed with third readings for multiple rezoning and plat-vacation items; those items were considered for third reading at the meeting.
- Consent calendar (minutes, FY27 fire budget, city bills): Approved by motion and voice vote.
Public comment and other notes
Developer Mitch Nivar spoke during public comment seeking city help on parking, truck access and overnight parking for the Rexburg West development; staff agreed to follow up. Cultural Arts staff reviewed the Flood50 celebration and reported it finished under budget.
