LaMoure County commissioners approved several personnel-policy updates and an insurance renewal during their Oct. 15 meeting.
The board approved a revision to the donation-of-sick-leave policy clarifying that donated leave is considered a gift and cannot be returned to the donating employee. Commissioners also approved language additions to the Dress Code/Appearance policy giving supervisors responsibility for providing appearance guidelines and authority to ask employees to change clothing or cover tattoos deemed inappropriately displayed before beginning work. The county also adopted a Short‑Term Telecommuting Policy that requires employees to sign a telecommuting agreement.
Additionally, Commissioner Lee Miller moved to renew the county’s policy with the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund (NDIRF) at a $3 million liability limit, the same limit as the previous year; the motion carried.
The changes were approved unanimously; county staff will implement the updated policies and collect signed telecommuting agreements where applicable.
