At the Feb. 25 meeting the committee took three procedural actions in open session.
The committee approved the minutes from the municipal court meeting on Dec. 1, 2025 after a motion and second early in the meeting. Chair McKee Rodriguez announced the motion passed.
Later, after discussion of the judge appointment process and applicant pool, committee members agreed to extend the municipal judge application posting period by two weeks; staff were directed to coordinate the extension with Human Resources. Fred Garcia confirmed staff could follow up with HR.
The committee then met in a brief executive session to consult with the City Attorney pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code. Upon reconvening the chair stated that no official action was taken in executive session and the meeting adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
