CRA staff: Alder and Oak approved for outdoor dining; facade grant review pushed to August

Staff said Alder and Oak (former Jekyll Brewing) received fire marshal-stamped outdoor dining plans and the city manager's approval is pending. Staff requested the facade grant application window be extended so quarter 3 reviews occur at the August meeting.
Taylor, CRA staff, told the board that Alder and Oak has submitted an outdoor dining pilot application and that the fire marshal stamped and approved the plans; the packet was sent to the city manager for final approval, after which the business can install outdoor furniture under the pilot program.
Staff also raised façade grant timing: because the July meeting date shifted earlier this year some applicants missed the two-week pre-meeting submission requirement. Taylor formally requested the CRA allow applicants to submit between now and the regular August meeting so the quarter 3 grant review can occur in August.
Planning and design coordination Taylor introduced Matt from GAI and said Public Works and GAI will coordinate Phase 3b design work along 2nd Avenue North; staff signaled further, more detailed design conversations will return to the board given concerns about materials selection (noting pavers’ maintenance challenges).
Administrative calendar reminders Staff reiterated the August 13 ethics workshop at the regular time and the August 24 regular CRA meeting, and said calendar reminders will be issued.
